Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov met with President of South Ossetia Eduard Gagloev in Moscow, the press service of the Russian Foreign Ministry reports.
"The key issues of the bilateral agenda and foreign policy coordination, including the expansion of the Republic's international relations, were considered in detail. In the context of regional security, the state of affairs at the International Geneva Discussions on Security and Stability in Transcaucasia was also discussed," the press service said.
It was noted that Sergey Lavrov informed the South Ossetian President about the progress of the Russian special military operation to protect Donbass. A high assessment was given to the humanitarian assistance provided by Tskhinval to the DPR and the LPR.
"Moscow and Tskhinval's invariable adherence to the principles of equality and mutual respect has been reaffirmed, and a firm commitment to strengthening the allied Russian-South Ossetian relations has been expressed," the press service said.
