On Friday, The State Security Committee of South Ossetia spread a message, noting the increasing cases of provocations from the territory of Georgia by damaging engineering structures and barriers used to protect the state border of the Republic of South Ossetia.

"So, on July 04, 2022, in the vicinity of the village of Ksuis, Tskhinval district, a group of seven young people violated the state border of South Ossetia and broke part of the fence used to prevent overgrazing of livestock. A similar criminal act was committed on July 12 this year next to the village of Grom, Tskhinval district.

In addition to the incidents listed above, the theft of the border information sign and the destruction of a stationary observation post were also recorded this year," the KGB press service said in a statement.

The KGB believes that the actions of vandalism on the state border organized and supported by the Georgian regime are direct attempts to implement the policy of "blurring" the borders of South Ossetia and cast doubt on Georgia's commitment to seeking a peaceful dialogue.

In this regard, the KGB has declared that all the facts of damage to the state property of South Ossetia committed by Georgian provocateurs are documented by the Border Guard Service of the KGB of the Republic of South Ossetia and are assessed as criminal acts.
