On Wednesday, in Brussels in the "Russian House" the anniversary of "The Days of Ossetian Culture in Europe" begin their work. As the head of the international association Renaissance-Sandidzan Radion Pukhaev told IA “Res”, the anniversary events were planned for 2020, but due to the pandemic, they were postponed to 2021, and then to 2022.
“The events open with the premiere of Temina Tuaeva’s film “1100 Years of Traditions and Identity”. The film is dedicated to the 1100th anniversary of Alanian Orthodoxy. The Christian history of Ossetia is like an ancient crumbling mosaic, the surviving fragments of which have not lost the brightness of colors and shades,” Pukhaev said.
He has added that according to church tradition, Alanya is a country of apostolic tradition. By 907, a new diocese appeared in the Patriarchate of Constantinople - the Diocese of Alan with the rank of archdiocese.
“In the second half of the 10th century, its status was raised to that of a metropolis. A new Orthodox state appeard on the political map of Europe,” he has noted.
Pukhaev has added that the traditional round table "Bridges of Cooperation" with the participation of the creative intelligentsia of Ossetia and Europe was also planned, but due to problems with visas, the lack of direct flights and the unstable situation with trips to the EU, the organizers decided not to hold it.
“The events will continue with the opening of the exhibition of the Ossetian artists “Inspiration”. The exhibition will feature the works by artists of different generations, including: Magrez Kelekhsaev, Boris Gabaraev, Vadim Pukhaev, Akhsar Yessenov, Vadim Kadzhaev, Natalya Abaeva, Vladimir Aylarov, Arkady Kumaritov, Akhsarbek Akhpolov, Sofya Kodoeva and Marat Kesaev," he said. .
Earlier, the anniversary events “10 years of the Days of the Ossetian Culture in Europe” started with the opening of a grandiose exhibition of the Ossetian artists “Inspiration”, which was being held from June 29 to August 5, 2022 at the Van Gogh Museum in the Netherlands. The exhibition turned out to be unprecedented in terms of quality and scale. More than 100 works by 23 Ossetian artists were presented.
Due to the high quality of the events, which is supported for more than ten years, the organizers of the Days of Ossetian Culture in Europe received a number of proposals for holding exhibitions, plain airs and concerts from Brazil, India, Morocco, Turkey and China. It is planned to draw up an action plan for 2023 and 2024 by the end of autumn.
