The International Youth Forum "Preservation of Historical Memory in the Context of Global Changes" has completed its work at the South Ossetian State University. The event was organized by the South Ossetia State University together with NCFU.
As IA "Res" has been informed in the press service of the university, more than 100 students from Russia, Abkhazia, Armenia and South Ossetia took part in the forum.
"For youth, the work was organized in sections:
"The Greater Caucasus and the countries of the Near Abroad - the history of the war": the work of search and patriotic detachments aimed at combating the falsification of the history of the Great Patriotic War, "Volunteers of Memory - Good Returns": the work of volunteer associations to assist veteran organizations, "International Memory beyond borders” (the work of student and youth associations to preserve the ethno-cultural heritage, monuments of the Great Patriotic War)," the press service said.
They noted that for three days the second secretary of the Representative Office of the Russian Foreign Ministry in the city of Mineralnye Vody Vyacheslav Potapov, director of the Humanitarian Institute of the North Caucasus Federal University Marina Kolesnikova, teacher of the Department of History, Archeology and Ethnology of Abkhazia of the Abkhaz State University Aslan Gabelaya and others.
"Attention was focused on how important it is to preserve historical memory in the face of destructive phenomena taking place in the world. Young people prepared and discussed joint projects, agreed to continue cooperation," the press service said.
At the end of the forum, a cultural program was organized; a tour of the sights of the capital of South Ossetia took place.
