On Friday, South Ossetian State University hosted a presentation of a book by Russian statesman and public figure, legal scholar, author of scientific, journalistic and fiction books, Doctor of Law, Professor, and Honored Lawyer of the Russian Federation Ivan Solovyov.
The event was attended by representatives of the leadership of South Ossetia, the Russian Embassy, heads of ministries and departments, teachers of the South Ossetian State University, guests from the DPR.
The book has already been presented in different cities of Russia. This is the first work of art in the Russian Federation dedicated to the special military operation in Ukraine, based on real events and the fate of military personnel on the front line.
Secretary of the Security Council of South Ossetia Anatoly Pliev, on behalf of President of the Republic, has welcomed Solovyov, noting that he is a person who has done a lot for South Ossetia, assisted in the development of the South Ossetian law enforcement system.
“Ivan Nikolaevich has written a book, which is one of the very first in Russia that has reflected the activities of our heroes in the performance of their official duty,” Pliev said. “It is gratifying that Solovyov considered it necessary to present his book with us, this once again proves that Ossetia is his native country for him.”
Pliev wished Solovyov creative success, expressing confidence that his work would find a significant response from the South Ossetian audience.
“I hope that Ivan Nikolaevich's example will inspire South Ossetian writers and journalists to write a book about Ossetian guys taking part in the special military operation,” he has added.
Rector of the South Ossetian State University Vadim Tedeev noted the importance of the presentation of the book within the walls of the South Ossetian University.
“I am sure that this is not the last visit to our university by a respected author, a patriot, a real Russian person,” Tedeev said.
In turn, the author of the book, Ivan Solovyov, expressed gratitude to the leadership of South Ossetia for the invitation and hospitality.
“The book is dedicated to our heroes who today, with weapons in their hands, are defending the sovereignty of our country, defending the future of our children, performing very difficult combat work every day, risking their lives. And here we must show that the front and rear are united. Sometimes there is a front in the rear, because you need to defend the very “red lines” that I write about,”Soloviev said.
The author of the book said that the book was presented in different cities of the Russian Federation.
“The first presentation, as soon as the book was issued, took place in Donetsk, in the Museum of the Patriotic War,” he has specified. - Then we visited the hospital, sent books to the front line. Each trip, each presentation is a whole event, a whole world. And we must understand that our future, our victory lies in the unity of the rear and the front.”
Solovyov h noted that much has changed for the better in South Ossetia.
“In order to look to the future with confidence, we need to be able to defend, among other things, these “red lines”, which are our self-respect, sovereignty and security, our future and the future of our children. The Lord helps the righteous, so victory will be ours,”said Solovyov.
He also stressed that he would write a sequel to the book, which would certainly tell about the heroes from Ossetia.
Zalina Tedeeva, President of APRYAL South Ossetia, Vice-Rector for Strategic Partnership and Innovation Policy of South Ossetia State University, noted that the publication of a book about Russian military personnel participating in the special military operation is very relevant.
“Our South Ossetian society is also waiting for such books, memoirs, films, performances, because we are actively participating spiritually, morally, praying for the participants in the operation, following the events,” Tedeeva said. - This phrase "red lines" today is heard by everyone who is and feels like a patriot of their homeland, Russia, a country that is friendly to us."
The Retired General, the Interior Minister of South Ossetia in 2012-2017. Akhsar Lavoev has noted that the presentation of Solovyov's book in the Republic indicates that the author treats the country very warmly.
“Your book will be of interest to all of us. Everyone knows that our guys across the front line are actively involved in the special military operation. Unfortunately, there are already dozens of dead from South Ossetia. This suggests that this is not a foreign war for us, this is our common war,” he said.
Head of the Fund for Support of the Wounded, Disabled in the Course of Combat Operations on the Territory of South Ossetia from 1989-2008. Madina Plieva expressed her gratitude to the author for the book, noting that people of South Ossetia had been facing death for 30 years.
“We have experienced all the hardships of the war, and thanks to great Russia we have won. Many of our guys are now in the zone of the special military operation, thanks to all the heroes,” she has added.
At the end of the meeting with the writer, those who wished could receive autographed books
