The cooperation agreement between the Parliament of South Ossetia and the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation was discussed at the meeting of the Parliamentary Committee on Foreign Policy and Inter-Parliamentary Relations. According to the press service of the legislative body, the meeting was chaired by the head of the Committee, Zaza Driaev.
Driaev has noted that the agreement is valid, but changes are being made to it. Driaev has stressed that in the new edition, it is clearly defined in which areas the Parliament of the RSO and the State Duma of the Russian Federation will be cooperating.
“The actualization of parliamentary cooperation is aimed at deepening comprehensive relations between Russia and South Ossetia in the political, legal, socio-economic, humanitarian fields, as well as in the field of security. This agreement will be further strengthening friendship and strategic partnership between South Ossetia and the Russian Federation,” Driaev said.
The head of the Committee added that the signing of the agreement would take place in South Ossetia, stressing that State Duma Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin would also be present at the signing.
The Committee members noted that they had read the agreement and considered the document important.
