In South Ossetia, the collection of humanitarian aid for the victims in Syria and Turkey will last until the end of March

Residents of South Ossetia have been taking an active part in collecting humanitarian aid for residents of Syria and Turkey affected by the devastating earthquake, the press service of the Committee on Youth Policy and Sports told the Res news agency.

As noted in the Committee, the action started in early February and will last until the end of March.

“We express our sincere gratitude to all the sympathetic citizens of the Republic, who are not indifferent to the misfortune of people who find themselves in a difficult life situation,” the press service noted.

It has been specified that people are bringing things needed by the victims of the earthquake, long-term storage products, personal hygiene items.

“The action was attended by the Committee for Standardization and Metrology of South Ossetia, the staff of the Anacharsis National Library, the club “Apollo” and others. To date, the collection continues, people are actively connected to the action,” said the respondent.

It should be noted that the collection point was opened on behalf of the President of the Republic Alan Gagloev.

For the purpose of openness and accessibility of information, the data of all those who provided assistance are recorded. Among the necessary things and essentials for the victims: warm blankets, solar-powered lanterns, candles, matches, sleeping bags, thermoses, hygiene products, medicines and much more.
