A lecture by Alexey Chibirov, Director of the Vladikavkaz Scientific Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS), Candidate of Historical Sciences specializing in domestic and foreign historiography of the Scythian-Sarmatian-Alanian heritage, took place at the South Ossetian State University.
As “Res” was informed in the press service of the university, Chibirov delivered a lecture "Dzambolat Dzanti - the history of Ossetia through the eyes of an emigrant."
“Before the start of the lecture, during a working meeting with the rector of the South Ossetian State University Vadim Tedeev, a range of issues was outlined that will be worked out in the near future,” the press service said. - Tedeev expressed his gratitude to him for his willingness to conduct a series of lectures at the university.
According to the press service, at the beginning of the lecture, Chibirov presented the next issue of the journal Nartamongæ, dedicated to the outstanding scientist Yuri Gagloyty, and presented it as a gift to the university.
“Each material of the journal is of scientific interest. The issue contains an article by Aleksey Chibirov himself, dedicated to the outstanding linguist of the 20th century Harold Bailey, who visited both parts of Ossetia and knew firsthand about our region. He has also noted that this article in English was recently published in the publication of the University of Bologna,” the press service specified.
They noted that in the context of the lecture “Dzambolat Dzanti - the history of Ossetia through the eyes of an emigrant”, Chibirov spoke about the names that left behind a rich heritage in history, but are not known to the general public.
“Chibirov spoke about the Ossetia magazine, which was published in Paris by Dzambolat Dzanti in 1933. He managed to attract eminent people to the work of the magazine. It is noteworthy that the materials in it were printed in three languages,” the press service noted.
The interlocutor of the agency has noted that the issue also contains materials of the state adviser to the President of South Ossetia, a historian Konstantin Kochiev, a young scientist from Spain who has been promotung Ossetian science abroad Boris Misikov.
The university has added that Alexey Chibirov's lecture brought together the teaching staff of historians and students of the specialties "history of international relations" and "journalism".
