Delegates from South Ossetia took part in the II Eurasian meeting of Russian compatriots from the countries of the Near Abroad, Asia, the Middle East, Europe and Africa in Tajikistan.
As reported to IA “Res” by Anzhelika Bukovskaya, one of the Forum participants, a member of the Coordinating Council of the Organization of Russian Compatriots in South Ossetia, told “the forum brought together representatives of the Russian community from almost all countries of the Eurasian continent.”
“As part of the meeting, plenary discussions were held on the topic "Women's communities of Eurasia: strength in partnership" and "Eurasian space: a dialogue of cultures and civilizations." On the sidelines of the Forum, a round table was also held on the topic: “Training and educational centers as tools for spreading and strengthening the position of the Russian language in the Eurasian space,” Bukovskaya said.
According to her, during the discussions, the prospects for consolidating the movement of compatriots, the ways for further development of the cultural, humanitarian and business spheres of their activities were considered in detail.
“Concrete steps were identified to protect and promote Russian cultural and historical values. Following the results of the Eurasian meeting, a final statement was adopted, in which the participants expressed their desire to continue to increase horizontal ties between organizations of compatriots in the Eurasian space in the future, ”added the member of the Coordinating Council of the Organization of Russian Compatriots.
As noted by Bukovskaya, the Forum has become a platform for communication and consolidation of the female part of the Russian diaspora.
“The meeting of compatriots will not only contribute to the establishment of a constructive dialogue, but will also contribute to solving urgent problems. The participants of the Forum were also welcomed by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Russia to Tajikistan Semyon Grigoriev. Also, at the second meeting of compatriots, a photo exhibition about famous Russian women was launched, provided by Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation,” said the Forum participant.
She thanked the South Ossetian Coordinating Council of the Organization of Russian Compatriots, as well as the Russian Embassy in the Republic for the opportunity to become part of such a large-scale international event.
The Forum of compatriots was held under the auspices of the government commission for compatriots abroad and with the support of the Moscow government.
