The Defense Minister of South Ossetia, Marat Pavlov, on behalf of President of the Republic, Alan Gigloev, awarded a group of servicemen who had taken an active part in repelling the Georgian aggression in August 2008 as part of one of the Russian units, the press service of the defense department reports.
“The military personnel of the Archangel Mikhail separate Cossack assault brigade (at the moment, the military are representing this unit) were awarded medals“ For the service to safeguard peace in South Ossetia, ”the press service said.
During the award ceremony, the Defense Minister expressed gratitude to the defenders of South Ossetia for dedication during the special operation to force Georgia to the peace, wished the military personnel good health, good luck and success.
