The Orthodox Church of South Ossetia-Alania are expressing deep concern over the events taking place on the territory of the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra, the message of the Diocese of Alania, published in the telegram channel, says.

As noted by Metropolitan Ambrose of Alania, the expulsion and arrest of monks, the closing of the churches of the monastery violate all the laws of humanity, individual rights and freedom of religion.

“The persecution of Christians around the world is becoming more and more cruel and intolerant on the part of the apostasy of the world, which does not tolerate love, chastity and sacrifice,” the metropolitan said.

According to him, the church prevents this "world" from suicidally sinking into the dark abyss of the mystery of lawlessness, and therefore is hated by it.

“Two millennia ago, our Lord Jesus Christ warned us: “Look, do not be horrified, for all this must be, but this is not the end: for nation will rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom; and there will be famines, plagues and earthquakes in places yet it is the beginning of diseases.

Then they will hand you over to torture and kill you; and you will be hated by all nations because of my name; and then many will be tempted, and will betray one another, and will hate one another; and many false prophets will rise up and deceive many; and because of the increase of iniquity, the love of many will grow cold; he who endures to the end will be saved." Amen!, - emphasized Metropolitan Ambrose of Alania.
