The people of South Ossetia, on the way to recognition, went through many trials and losses and deservedly received it, - President of the Republic said at the meeting with veterans of military operations from Abkhazia, the DPR and the LPR, who had arrived in Tskhinvali to participate in the celebrations dedicated to the Day of Recognition of the Independence of the Republic of South Ossetia by the Russian Federation.
The head of state has expressed his gratitude to the veterans, noting that South Ossetia is always glad to see them on its land.
“It is very important for every citizen of any country to see close people nearby when holding any event at the state level,” said Gagloev. “Yesterday we witnessed that our fighting friends came to us and were sincerely rejoicing at our common holiday, shared our common holiday with us.”
Gagloev noted that in 2008, after Dmitry Medvedev announced the historic decrees recognizing the independence of South Ossetia and Abkhazia, everyone was sure that they would never have to take up arms and fight again.
“But today the sons of Ossetia, multinational Russia, and fraternal republics have taken up arms and are defending our common culture, common values, common history,” Gagloev stressed.
The head of state added that the guys who are participating in the special military operation from South Ossetia are sure of victory.
“We all, of course, would like to see the tasks of the special military operation that were set be achieved in a short time, and we all together celebrate our common victory,” the President said.
Alan Gagloev during the event for his contribution to strengthening friendly relations between the RSO and the Republic of Abkhazia, and in connection with the 15th anniversary of the recognition of the RSO by the Russian Federation, awarded the Order of Friendship to Aslan Sangulia.
At the end of the meeting, participants in the fighting from Luhansk, Donetsk and Abkhazia thanked Alan Gagloev for his attention.
The meeting was attended by Speaker of the Parliament of the Republic Alan Alborov, State Advisor to President Batraz Begizov, head of the Fund for the wounded who became disabled during the hostilities in South Ossetia from 1989-2008 Madina Plieva.
