In difficult times for South Ossetia, after the destruction and losses, support and fraternal shoulder were important for the Republic. Assistance was coming from all regions of Russia, President of the Republic of South Ossetia Alan Gagloev noted during the meeting with the delegation from St. Petersburg.
"Thank you for showing and proving once again that you are nearby. Thank you for such a correct and warm attitude towards the people of the Republic. Ossetia has always been and will be close to Russia," he said.
Kirill Fyodorov, Deputy Chairman of the Property Relations Committee of St. Petersburg, has noted that the Day of Recognition of the Independence of South Ossetia by Russia is a common holiday for the two states.
"We are impressed by what we have seen here. A beautiful country, wonderful, open, sincere people - this is something that cannot but rejoice," he said.
One of the members of the delegation of St. Petersburg, development director of ETU-NT LLC Ilya Leshchev has also expressed gratitude to the President for the warm welcome, noting that he was serving in the 58th army of Russia and South Ossetia is his second home.
"We remember 2008. A friend of mine died here. Thank you for remembering and honoring the guys who died here," Leshchev has emphasized.
The delegation arrived in the Republic the day before to participate in the events dedicated to the anniversary of the recognition of South Ossetia.
