A delegation of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations, headed by Deputy Minister Colonel General Ilya Denisov, arrived in South Ossetia to participate in the festive events dedicated to the 15th anniversary of the Republic’s rescue department, the press service of the emergency department reports.
The guests were greeted at the South Ossetian-Russian border according to national customs - with three pies and a cup of beer.
The head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of South Ossetia, Lieutenant General Ibragim Gasseev, greeted his colleagues and expressed gratitude for the visit.

Ministry of Emergency Situations of South Ossetia was formed practically from scratch on October 4, 2008 - a couple of months after the armed aggression of Georgia. This difficult time for the Republic showed the need to create a separate department that was capable of solving problems of organizing civil defense, emergency response in emergency situations, protecting the population and territories of the Republic from emergencies and fires.
