President Alan Gagloev has received the delegation of the Karachay-Cherkessia Republic led by First Deputy of the People's Assembly (Parliament) Dagir Smakuev. The head of state has noted that very warm relations have developed between South Ossetia and Karachay-Cherkessia, representatives of the republics always take part in all events.
“There are Ossetian villages on the territory of your republic. It is pleasant to note that we are developing our relations in all areas. We are determined to develop interaction with all regions of Russia, primarily with the Caucasian republics, which are closer to us both in distance and by mentality,” the President’s press service quotes his words.
For his part, Dagir Smakuev noted that he was in South Ossetia for the first time.
“We have come with pleasure as soon as we received the invitation from the Parliament of the Republic. We actually have a lot in common, we are truly fraternal republics. We are mountain republics. We have something to share. Moreover, you are friends with our leadership. We came to exchange experience in legislative activities and the educational sphere. The agreement will be signed between our universities. I think our communication will be beneficial,” he said.
The head of the KCR delegation has noted that it is not easy to develop the economy in mountainous areas, but one cannot give up and must look for the opportunities for development, and for this it is important to study the experience of the advanced and developed countries.
“If we will be developing together and supporting each other, then we can achieve a lot,” said Dagir Smakuev.
Alan Gagloev has noted that it is historically the Ossetians’ desire to develop agriculture in the mountainous conditions; both republics have experience that can be exchanged. In addition, South Ossetia has a great potential in the tourism sector. He asked to convey greetings and warm wishes to the Head of the Karachay-Cherkessia Republic Rashid Temrezov, emphasizing that South Ossetia is always happy to see friends from the fraternal republics.
“We remember the help and support during the August 2008 war and always feel a fraternal shoulder,” the President said.
