A working meeting between the Trade Representative of Abkhazia in the Russian Federation Oleg Bartsits and Ambassador of Abkhazia to South Ossetia Alan Elbakiev was held in Tskhinval on Friday.
The Abkhaz trade representative arrived in the Republic to participate in the VIII international scientific and practical conference “Russia and the World: Dialogues - 2024. Forces of Attraction”, started today in Tskhinval.
Welcoming Bartsits, Elbakiev has noted that Russia is the only strategic ally and partner for the Republic.
“In turn, South Ossetia and Abkhazia are Russian outposts in the Caucasus. Last year, our republics took leading places in the ranking of countries friendly to Russia in the post-Soviet space,” Elbakiev said.
He noted the importance of holding such conferences in such difficult times.
“I know that a lot of analytical work was carried out, recommendations were made for further development and cooperation,” the Ambassador continued.
Bartsits shared that he was glad to be in the brotherly republic of Abkhazia.
“Of course, I am glad to visit the Embassy of Abkhazia. Indeed, I believe that this conference format is very useful, successful and large-scale. This is an interested and caring dialogue that allows us to find appropriate solutions to the most pressing and sensitive issues on our joint agenda,” he said.
The Trade Representative of Abkhazia has added that such large-scale and useful dialogues are possible with the moderation of Russian colleagues and friends.
Theb, the parties discussed current issues in the work of the Embassy of the Republic of Abkhazia in South Ossetia and exchanged views on the issues of interest.
