In the first quarter of 2025, the border guards detained 80 violators at various sections of the state border of South Ossetia. Of these, 37 were violators of the state border regime, 43 - of the border regime. Such data is provided by the State Security Committee of the Republic of South Ossetia.
The KGB has noted that the Border Service conducted investigations into each fact of violation of legal regimes.
“As a result, 58 people were subject to administrative fines, four were expelled from the Republic of South Ossetia, two of them with fines, thirteen violators were issued warnings, two criminal cases were initiated against four detainees, and proceedings in another criminal case were terminated in accordance with procedural rules,” the Committee has noted.
The KGB Border Service drew the attention of citizens, organizations and state enterprises to the fact that with the onset of the active period of spring agricultural works in the areas located in the border zone of the Republic of South Ossetia, it is necessary to obtain the appropriate permits for economic activities in advance.
To obtain them, citizens of the Republic of South Ossetia must submit an application for a permit to the KGB Border Service of the Republic of South Ossetia (Tskhinval, Khetagurov St., 1, tel. 45-43-43) at least three days before the start of the event, with the mandatory attachment of photocopies of passports with a registration stamp.
To obtain a permit for works in the border zone, citizens of Russia must send an application to the Border Service KGB of the Republic of South Ossetia, attaching a photocopy of the passport with a mark on registration at the place of residence in the Russian Federation.
Citizens of other foreign countries must also submit documents confirming temporary registration at the place of residence in the Republic of South Ossetia, photocopies of their migration cards, as well as permit to carry out labor activities in the territory of the Republic of South Ossetia.
Foreign citizens planning to carry out work in the border zone must obtain a pre-established pass for the right to stay in it.
The Committee has also warned that deliberate violation of the legal regimes established at the state border and border territory entails not only administrative, but in some cases, criminal liability.
All possible directions of penetration of violators of the state border of the Republic are in the control zones and sectors of influence of the border forces of South Ossetia.
