The creation of a national tourism portal will have a beneficial effect on the development of tourism in South Ossetia, Alexander Pliev, Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Social Policy and Health, has noted at the press conference in Tskhinval.
According to him, the issue of developing the tourism industry in the Republic was discussed at the meeting of the Commission on cooperation between the Parliament of South Ossetia and the Federation Council.
Pliev has noted that the tourism industry is economically profitable, and today it is developing quite actively in the Republic.
“The government is working on creating a tourism portal. I showed all the developments to our Russian colleagues, they support us in this matter. This portal will introduce our guests to the sights of South Ossetia, culture, and national customs.
All our archaeological, cultural and historical data will be presented there. A lot of work has been done in this direction, which, in my opinion, will have a beneficial effect on the development of tourism in the Republic,” Pliev said.
The parliamentarian has noted that the development of tourism will be positively influenced by guides who have successfully completed the relevant courses at the South Ossetian State University.
Pliev added that South Ossetia could provide its space to large corporations that could build sanatoriums and hospitals on its territory.
He has noted that in the Republic of South Ossetia, there are more than 200 mineral springs with medicinal properties.
