The agreements signed between Russian investors and the government of South Ossetia, are important for socio-economic development of the Republic, Prime Minister of South Ossetia Konstantin Dzhussoev noted during the press approach.
According to him, for many years no subsoil studies were carried out in South Ossetia.
“The today’s agreement will be followed by positive steps in the development of our mining and oil industries. Samples of the South Ossetian oil were taken and will be examined. Experts are confident that it will be possible to provide the Republic with our own fuel, oil, and diesel fuel,” the Prime Minister has noted.
Felix Chochiev, General Director of the Rosneftegaz joint-stock company, has noted that a trip to the village of Grom in Tskhinval district, where oil was being extracted from 1954 to 1957, is planned this week.
“Before the agreement was signed, we went and explored oil fields. In the future, we want to go to Tedelet and Grom, we will collect samples and then oil studies will be carried out in the city of Tomsk. In terms of timing, this is not as fast as we would like. We will try to speed up the project implementation timeline,” he said.
On Friday, the South Ossetian government has concluded a number of agreements with the Russian investors.
