President of South Ossetia Alan Gagloev has met with the delegation of Abkhazia, who arrived in Tskhinvali to celebrate the 16th anniversary of the recognition of the Republic's independence by Russia.
The Abkhaz delegation has included the First Deputy Defense Minister of Abkhazia, Colonel General Beslan Tsvizhba, Deputy Defense Minister of the Republic of Abkhazia, State Secretary of the Defense Ministry, Colonel David Bzhania, the head of the administration of the village of Chlou in the Ochamchira district Aslan Sangulia.
Gagloev has emphasized that people of Abkhazia and South Ossetia have gone through a difficult path together, and together they deservedly achieved the recognition.
"People of South Ossetia and Abkhazia have gone through one difficult path together, fighting against one enemy at the same time. In the most difficult times, they were standing together like brothers. Today, a delegation from South Ossetia is in Abkhazia, together with our brothers, they are taking part in the festive events that are being held there,” Gagloev has noted.
The head of state has emphasized that people of South Ossetia and Abkhazia are celebrating a common holiday today.
“Today, in the special military operation zone, the guys from South Ossetia and fraternal Abkhazia are fighting with dignity, defending our history together. We will celebrate the victory together again,” the President said.
Beslan Tsvizhba congratulated the people of South Ossetia on the significant holiday.
We will always remember those who were bringing this day closer,” he has noted.
Alan Gagloev awarded the guests with a jubilee medal “In Commemoration of the 15th Anniversary of the Victory in the Patriotic War of the People of South Ossetia.”
