South Ossetia is being transformed, and medical organizations are becoming better equipped and modern, Mikhail Murashko, the Health Minister of the Russian Federation, noted at the II International Medical Conference in Tskhinval.

The medical conference is dedicated to the practical aspects of healthcare. The large-scale event started with a film screening about the restoration of South Ossetia after the August 2008 war.

"I am pleased to be here today, knowing the history and strength of the Ossetian people. This is a people who overcome many difficulties and go towards their cherished goal. We have gone through the difficult path of the pandemic with you; today we are going through the path of providing assistance to the wounded. The footage of Tskhinval in 2008 that you have shown, has left an indelible mark and impression," Murashko said.

The Minister has emphasized that the development of healthcare and strengthening of the people is a state task for South Ossetia and for Russia, emphasizing that they are following a common course.

"There are modern challenges for the healthcare system that require the development of technologies, the system of providing medical care, including a set of preventive measures and areas regarding timely diagnostics," the Minister has noted.

Murashko showed several areas that, according to him, are currently being developed in Russian medicine, and expressed hope that the team of academics and professors present at the conference would help building a unified strategy for the development of the healthcare system and achieve positive success.
