The delimitation of the border between South Ossetia and Georgia, as well as between Abkhazia and Georgia, is one of the important tasks, Konstantin Kochiev, State Adviser to President of South Ossetia, said at the briefing following the 62nd round of the Geneva Discussions.
“Where there are no clearly defined borders, there is a breeding ground for incidents.
People may not know where the border line is and cross it without suspecting that they are committing an offense," Kochiev said.
He has added that the situation is generally stable, but negative aspects were also noted during the talks, in particular, drone flights over the territory of Abkhazia and South Ossetia from Georgia.
"We also paid special attention to the fact that Georgia continues a hysterical campaign against our republics, based on hatred, in particular, the calls to go to South Ossetia and Abkhazia. We called for measures to prevent such excesses on the streets of Georgia in the future," the speaker noted.
The State Advisor called the format of the International Discussions on Security and Stability in Transcaucasia quite successful, since its main task is to promote security, which has been doing for 16 years.
According to him, all participants of the 62nd meeting were unanimous in this opinion.
