The delegation of the Russian Federation Council and members of the South Ossetian Parliament, headed by Speaker Alan Margiev, visited the Eternal Flame memorial in Tskhinval, honoring the memory of the fallen heroes of the Great Patriotic War.
The guests of the Republic and the parliamentarians also laid flowers at the Memorial Complex to the Fallen Defenders of the Republic.
Then the delegation visited the National Museum of the Republic.
Director of the museum, Merab Zasseev, gave the guests a guided tour, telling them in detail about the exhibits of historical and cultural value.
He focused on the importance of the museum as the most important cultural heritage of the Republic, emphasizing that its creation was made possible thanks to the support of the Russian Federation.
"Thanks to Russia's assistance, many significant projects have been implemented in the Republic, including the construction of the National Museum. All our friends from Russia who visit it are pleased with what they see. We have a unique and interesting collection for the museum community, which includes archaeological artifacts that are about 3,500 years old," he said.
After the tour, the delegation members left their wishes in the guest book of the museum complex.
Then the guests of the capital continued to get acquainted with the city.
The delegation of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation arrived in the Republic to participate in the meeting of the Commission on Inter-parliamentary Cooperation of Parliament of South Ossetia and the Federation Council, held the day before in the Parliament.
The delegation was headed by First Deputy of the Federation Council Committee on Defense and Security, Co-Chairman of the Russian part of the Commission Viktor Bondarev.
