The Tskhinval city administration has received the official invitation to visit the Italian city of Gradara, the press service of the mayor's office reports.
The invitation was conveyed by representative of the South Ossetian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Italy, Mauro Murgia, during the meeting held in the Tskhinval administration.
The letter from the mayor of Gradara emphasizes that such cooperation will bring significant benefits to both communities, starting with cultural exchange and knowledge sharing, and will also open up the opportunities for economic development of the territories.
The Italian delegation has also included the head of the Veneto-Russia Association, Palmarino Zoccatelli.
The meeting was attended for the South Ossetian part by first Deputy Head of the Tskhinval Administration, Nikolai Gagloev, and Deputy Head of the Tskhinval administration, Zhanna Lolaeva.
"We will be waiting for you, so choose a time and then we will discuss everything. We would like to see interaction between our students. In addition, there are very interesting small enterprises in Gradara, so contacts can be established between businessmen," Mauro Murgia has noted.
Nikolay Gagloev welcomed the guests on behalf of the city and its residents.
"We are always glad to see you on our land," Gagloev said.
He also noted the significant contribution of Mauro Murgia to spreading the information about the Beslan tragedy throughout the world and strengthening the ties of the Republic with Italy.
Gagloev invited the Italian guests to the celebration of the 35th anniversary of the Republic and the First International Economic Forum.
"During the celebration of a significant date - the Day of the Proclamation of the Republic of South Ossetia, the First International Economic Forum will be held in Tskhinval. This is the excellent platform for developing economic ties, where it will be possible to present the potential of our countries and establish business contacts," he has noted.
During the conversation, the meeting participants discussed issues of interaction and further cooperation.
