The Abkhaz Foreign Minister Oleg Bartsits received copies of the credentials from the newly appointed South Ossetian Ambassador to Abkhazia, Astamur Katsia, the Foreign Ministry press service reports.
The ceremony was attended by Deputy Foreign Minister Odyssey Bigvava and the Head of the Strategic Cooperation Department of the Foreign Ministry Dzhemal Bganba.
During the meeting, Oleg Bartsits has noted that cooperation between the two fraternal states is developing in the spirit of alliance, partnership, and friendship.
Bartsits congratulated the newly appointed Ambassador on the start of his diplomatic mission and expressed confidence that his work as Ambassador of the Republic of South Ossetia to Abkhazia would contribute to the further development and deepening of the Abkhaz-South Ossetian relations.
"You will present your credentials to President of the Republic of Abkhazia, Badra Zurabovich Gunba," the Foreign Minister said.
The Minister warmly recalled the Foreign Ministry delegation's visit to South Ossetia in February, during which they met with President Alan Gagloev, the Parliament Speaker Alan Margiev, the Foreign Minister Akhsar Dzhioev, and Rector of the A. Tibilov South Ossetian State University Vadim Tedeev.
"All these meetings were held at the highest level and were consistent with the spirit and letter of our friendship and relationship, as well as numerous agreements. Our entire cooperation is based on a very solid legal framework," he said.
The Minister wished the newly appointed Ambassador success and the fulfillment of all the tasks facing our countries.
In turn, Astamur Katsia thanked him for the warm welcome and expressed his readiness to make every effort to expand cooperation between the two countries.
