South Ossetia has the right to demand the extradition of former Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili - at the place of committing previous crimes, said the Republic’s Foreign Minister Dmitry Medoev.
"I mean the crimes of 2004 and 2008, according to the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide, adopted by Resolution 260 (III) of the UN General Assembly on December 9, 1948," said the Minister to the “Res” news agency.
Medoev stressed that "Saakashvili is being awaited a fair trial in South Ossetia and the decision will be appropriate."
