The Defense Ministry of South Ossetia hosted a solemn ceremony of awarding personnel in honor of the celebration of the 77th anniversary of the Victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War.

The event was attended by Defense Minister Vladimir Pukhaev, Deputy Ministers, officers of the military authorities, personnel of units, the press service of the defense department reports.

A number of officers were awarded the next military ranks, they were also awarded insignia "For Merit", letters of commendation.

The command-and-control center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of South Ossetia received a message about the discovery of a TM (training) anti-tank mine, the IA "Res" reported in the emergency department of the Republic.

“The mine was found on the side of the Tskhinval-Znaur road near the village of Tikhreu in the Tskhinval district of South Ossetia. The sappers of the Ministry of Emergency Situations went to the place,” the duty officer has specified.

The interlocutor of the agency has noted that the ammunition was removed with subsequent destruction.

The head of state congratulated the guests on the upcoming Victory Day and expressed gratitude for their visit.
