The President of the Republic of South Ossetia Eduard Kokoity received the RF Minister of Regional Development Viktor Basargin paying a working visit to the Republic. The meeting was also attended by the Prime Minister of South Ossetia Vadim Brovtsev, Deputy Regional Development Minister of the RF Roman Panov, Russian Ambassador to South Ossetia Elbrus Kargiev.
At the beginning of the meeting, Eduard Kokoity noted that after successful meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission, where important decisions were taken in relation to the future prospects of Russian-South Ossetian co-operation a lot had already been done.
"We are cooperating with the Ministry of Regional Development entrusted by Russian government to deal with this issue. Your today’s visit receives special attention in South Ossetia since it the end of the year and the comprehensive rehabilitation plan is about to complete, " said Eduard Kokoity.
Addressing Viktor Basargin, the President noted that it was thanks to Basargin’s personal involvement that the agreement was reached on allocation of funds for the construction of private housing in South Ossetia.

During the visit of the RF Minister of Regional Development to South Ossetia, the following documents were signed in Tskhinval: Minutes of the second session of the Intergovernmental Commission on economic and social cooperation between South Ossetia and Russia, the Terms of Interaction between the Ministry of Regional Development and the authorized body of the RSO to implement the investment program to promote socio-economic development South Ossetia in 2011. In addition, the investment program to promote socio-economic development of South Ossetia in 2011 was also signed.

Boris Chochiev, the Chairman of the Commission of South Ossetia on delimitation and demarcation of the border with Georgia, held a working meeting. The second meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on socio-economic cooperation between Russia and South Ossetia took place in Tskhinval. Representatives of almost all ministries and agencies of Russia and South Ossetia attended the meeting.
The meeting participants should determine the amount of funding within the socio-economic cooperation between Russia and South Ossetia in 2011, and approve the list of sites on the territory of South Ossetia the construction of which is to be carried out next year in the framework of socio-economic cooperation between Russia and South Ossetia. Furthermore, the date of the next meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission should be fixed.

A meeting of the Inter-Agency Governmental Commission for the socio-economic cooperation between the Russian Federation and the Republic of South Ossetia is taking place Tuesday, November 30, in Tskhinval, reports the press service of the president and the government of South Ossetia.
The meeting is to discuss the topical issues of further development of bilateral relations in the near future. Commission members will also participate in the opening of some construction sites, the rehabilitation of which is envisaged by the comprehensive plan for the current year.

On November 26, the Russian State Duma has ratified Agreement between the Government of the Russian Federation and the Government of the Republic of South Ossetia on the promotion and reciprocal protection of investments, says the the official website of the State Duma.
The document was signed on 1 December 2009 to create international legal conditions and guarantees for business and investment activities of the Russian Federation and the Republic of South Ossetia.

The number of unemployed persons having applied to the Department of Labor and Employment within the Ministry of Economic Development of the Republic of South Ossetia for the second quarter of 2010 reached 2,077 people, reported the Head of the Department Nonna Mkrtchyan.
According to her, unemployment has affected nearly all sectors of society.
"People with both higher and secondary education come to find a job. There are still less job vacancies than the unemployed registered. According to the report as of 15 September 2010, our registry contained data on 2,077 people, and there 526 job vacancies. These proportions do not cover the needs of all", said Mkrtchyan.
