In connection with an aggravation of the situation in the zone of the georgian-ossetian conflict
On September, 26th the capital of South Ossetia, the town of Tskhinval, has undergone a massed shelling from the direction of the georgian villages. As a result of shelling, that proceeded about two hours with application of the small arms and the large-caliber machine guns. There are wounded men there; a significant material damage is caused to the capital of the republic.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Pridnestrovien Moldavian Republic regards this action as the next armed provocation of the georgian authorities. The planned actions of Tbilisi, directed on aggravation of the situation and the kindling of a new conflict in the region, are present.
Lately the georgian authorities actively increase their military potential, build fortifications on the border with South Ossetia. The similar policy is carried out concerning the Republic of Abkhazia. Only a week earlier, on September, 20th in the zone of the georgian-abkhazian conflict there took place an attack of the georgian special troops on the training camp of the boundary detachment of the Republic of Abkhazia, as a result of which two abkhazian frontier guards has been killed. All this testifies that the management of Georgia has headed for realization of the power script in the region. Artificially aggravating the situation, the official Tbilisi thus tries to discredit the Russian peacemakers, their leading part in keeping peace. The conflicts, organized by the georgian side, are used as an argument with which the politicians of Georgia perform at international forums, demanding to exclude Russia from the processes of settlement on the Caucasus.
On the background of the having aggravated political processes in the georgian state and of the cracked rating of Mikhail Saakashvili, it is obvious that a new war is necessary to the president of Georgia for the decision of his internal political problems. The georgian leader is ready to sacrifice human lives to his imperious ambitions. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pridnestrovie considers that such a policy should find resolute condemnation from the international community.
According to the earlier reached bilateral agreements, Pridnestrovie declares about its readiness to render necessary help and support to the people of the Republic of South Ossetia. We are ready to take all the necessary measures with a view of keeping peace and stability in the region.
