The South Ossetian side states about suspension in its participation in the work of the Incident Prevention and Response Mechanism, reported the Special Representative for Post-Conflict Settlement Boris Chochiev.
"During the Geneva talks on security in South Caucasus, we have circulated our delegation's statement that unless the Georgian side provides us with information concerning our citizens abducted by Georgian special services both during the war in August 2008 and after it, we will withdraw out participation in the Incident Prevention and Response Mechanism established within the frames of the Geneva talks", said Chochiev.

He emphasized that the issue of the missing persons caused a hot debate at discussions in Geneva. "Georgians and Americans had initially tried to shift the discussion to the problem with the Georgian citizens detained with explosives on the territory of South Ossetia. We had quickly responded and complemented the information with evidences that on 9 October 2008, when three our citizens, among who there was also an underage Khugaev, were abducted by Georgian special services and until now, we have no information on their whereabouts", reported Chochiev.
According to him, the participants to Geneva talks were informed that in Georgia, the focal point for the issues of the missing himself participated in the abduction of South Ossetian citizens. "I have addressed the representatives of the United States and other participants that there is a paradox situation in Georgia, where Shalva Tramakidze, the person in charge of the missing file, himself was among the kidnappers. And he is the one responsible for the searching acitivities", underlined Chochiev.
Besides the missing issue, the participants to the discussions focused on the Report of the EU IIFFMCG.
Marat Kulakhmetov (JPKF Commander in August 2008), Assistant to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, had also participated in the Geneva talks. He made a speech on the events of August 2008.
