South Ossetia is getting prepared for the celebrations of the Day of the Republic's Recognition by the Russian Federation. As South Ossetian President's Advisor for State and International Protocol Zhanna Zasseeva reported to IA RES, celebrations devoted to the Day of South Ossetia's Recognition would be held in Tskhinval. She noted that the events would start on 25 August. "This day, the International Association of Ossetian Communities "Vozrozhdenie" (revival) will hold a conference on "Recognition of the independence and new horizons in the development of South Ossetia".
The forum will focus on the following topics: South Ossetia – specificities in the development of the statehood starting from 1989 to 2008; Specificities in the statehood's development after the recognition of South Ossetia's independence by Russia. Along with the above, the perspectives of settlement of vital social and economic problems after the recognition will be discussed," said Zasseeva. As she reported, on 26 August the celebrations would continue with a motor racing "Rejoice, the earth!". "Youth representatives from rural areas and the city will meet at the Theatre square of Tskhinval where the outdoor festival will take place", she said. On the same day, a round-table "2010 – first achievements after two years of recognition in the eyes of journalists and experts" will take place at Media Center "IR". "The main question to be discussed at this round-table are the current state and the perspectives of the development of Russian-South Ossetian relations, new political realities, challenges and priority tasks, the role of Russia in the formation of state power institutions and economy of South Ossetia, and so on", underscored Zasseeva.
Along with the above, she informed about ceremonial gathering of public representatives devoted to the Day of Recognition of the Republic of South Ossetia would take place. "A concert of "Golubie Bereti" will be held at the Threathre Square", added Zasseeva.
The celebrations in Tskhinval will be concluded with the opening of a song festival "Tskhinval! You Are Blessed!", where authors of songs about Tskhinval and singers will participate.
