War for people, for each person, - first of all is pain, loss, grief, tears. Georgia repeatedly undertook the attempts of destruction South Ossetia. But that damned night nobody could think that Georgia would assault upon sleeping people. The powerful blasts were heard that night, my son left for fighting, I was quite alone. I was sitting in full darkness in private with the awe. I hoped that next morning this horror would be stopped, but, alas, it became more awful. I had never left South Ossetia before, neither in 90-th of the XX-th century, nor in 2004, and nor in August 2008. We were being fired from all type of weapon, with using the forbidden system of volley fire "Hail".
The missiles were exploding somewhere nearby, I heard, as the windows were being knocked out, as everything was being crashed. I saw, as the georgians were walking down the street, crashing all around, they yelled, saying that they had occupied South Ossetia and so on. I was much frightened; I thought that they would shoot all our inhabitants. I was no more afraid for myself, I thought that being an old woman, I had already had my way. I was much upset about my son and all the young men. The price, paid for our independence was too high, plenty of young boys, women, oldsters, and children perished in this bloody war. What can a mother, who has outlived her own children, do, how she can live with it further on? A missile hit my house, everything was crashed, and at present I live in ruins. Hitherto I cannot come to myself, I am often sick after the war, my son has diseased kidneys. My pension is not enough both for the medicines, which are very expensive, and for living. The only hope was on Russia, I was sure that she would come and rescue us. So it happened. I want to express Russia my great gratitude for rendering us the assistance then and after the war, and also in rehabilitation of our country.
