In October, the South Ossetian Defense Ministry recorded three unauthorized over flights of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) using jamming. Defense Minister Yuri Yarovitsky reported this to President Alan Gagloev at the meeting with the Republic's security forces.
According to the Minister, the Ministry has also begun recruiting young personnel.
"Forty-two people have been conscripted and are undergoing training. At the end of November, they will be sworn in and appointed to their positions. Furthermore, the work has been completed with a group of specialists from the Russian Defense Ministry on equipping the training ground of the South Ossetian Ministry of Defense's training center," Yarovitsky said.
According to the Defense Minister, the unmanned systems center is being equipped and is scheduled to open at the end of November.
Alan Gagloev also inquired about the fate of applicants admitted to the Russian universities through the Defense Ministry.
Yarovitsky assured that all students had arrived safely at their training sites and had begun their classes.
