The Joint military maneuvers consolidate friendship between South Ossetia and Russia. It has been declared today by the Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Land forces, a general-colonel Alexander Postnikov in the course of the meeting with the President of the Republic of South Ossetia Eduard Kokoity and the Command of the Ministry of Defence of the RSO in Tskhinval.
"I have no doubt that the joint maneuvers of our troops and also personal relationship, which is being established in the process of the maneuvers, consolidate our friendship and provide mutual understanding", - has said Postnikov. The President of the RSO Eduard Kokoity has also noted the importance of cooperation in the sphere of security. «The Fourth Russian military base of the Border Management of the Federal Security Service of the RF provides reliable protection of peace and stability on the territory of South Ossetia. Russian servicemen, frontier-guards behave themselves very correctly on the territory of the RSO, considering our national mentality. The joint actions with the participation of families of the Russian servicemen and frontier-guards are often conducted ", - has noted Kokoity. In the course of the meeting were also discussed the questions on safety, the joint actions of the Defence departments of the RSO and the RF in case of emergency situations. Eduard Kokoity has emphasized that the staying of the Russian servicemen on the territory of the RSO is a reliable guarantor of peace and stability "not only in South Ossetia, but also in the whole region". In turn, a general-colonel Postnikov has expressed his gratitude to the leadership of the RSO for rendering assistance the staff of the Russian military base, stationed in the RSO.
