The world sport championship on weights among the veterans has taken place in the Belorussian city Vitebsk on March 31-April 4. The athlete from Archangel Vladislav Zhgilev, representing South Ossetia has become the gold prizewinner among the veterans of the age group- 65-69 years. Zhgilev has won the gold medal of the world championship twice, competing for the part of South Ossetia in the weight class before 110 kg. Today the veteran of the weight sport has arrived in Tskhinval and at the ceremony has handed on the won medals to the management of physical culture and sport of the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth Policy of the RSO.
"I have been constantly training myself; I am in good athletic form and hope that the amount of the medals, which I have brought to Tskhinval, will increase. And I am going to defend the sports reputation of South Ossetia further on", - has declared the champion IA "Res". According to his words he has also discussed with the representatives of the management the questions of conducting the different competitions between the sports teams of the RSO and the Archangel region. It should be noted that Zhgilev is a leader of the Archangel Sports club named after Alexander Dyatlov and renders South Ossetia the considerable assistance in resolving the issues of development physical culture and sport in the Republic.
