Plenipotentiary Representative of President of the Republic of South Ossetia on post-conflict settlement Murat Dzhioev has received today in Tskhinval the head of the International Committee of the Red Cross in South Ossetia Leann Hutchins.

During the meeting were discussed issues of ICRC activities in the districts of South Ossetia which suffered during the war in 2008, cooperation in searching for the missing persons, the humanitarian situation in the border villages of South Ossetia.
Murat Dzhioev focused attention of the ICRC representative on the tense situation prevailing in the neighboring border villages of Zardiantkari and Khelchua in connection with placing the Georgian police post in the center of Zardiantkari. He expressed concern that this post had caused extreme anxiety among the Ossetian residents of these villages, severely injured in 1991-1992, and could lead to serious tension.
Both sides expressed readiness for further cooperation for the benefit of people, their peace and prosperity.
The meeting was also attended by Deputy Presidential Envoy Khokh Gagloity.
It should be reminded that June 29 Interior Ministry of Georgia placed a police post a few hundred meters closer to the state border of South Ossetia in the village of Zardiantkari (Georgia), which is located opposite the South Ossetian village of Khelchua. This caused great tension among the people of the Ossetian nationality, living in these villages.
Convened in connection with this the emergency meeting of the MPRI did not give specific results. The parties announced their intention to hold in the near future one more meeting in the same format.
