An athlete from South Ossetia will take part in a tournament of martial arts

A native of South Ossetia Johnny Gazzaev will participate in the Fifth Open All-Russian Youth Games in martial arts. According to the athlete, the tournament will be held September, 9-19, 2012 in the city of Anapa.
"All-Russian Youth Games in Martial Arts – is the largest youth sports event in Russia. The strongest athletes from all cities and regions of the Russian Federation will take part in it", - said Gazzaev.

The Games will include competitions in different types of martial arts such as karate, sambo, kickboxing, Kudo, Thai boxing, jiu-jitsu and others.
"I`ll be performing in the full-contact kickboxing competition in the weight class up to 71 kg. This type of kickboxing enables full contact punches and kicks in all parts of the body, as well as back heels. Attacks on the opponent's feet are not allowed, as well as kicks by elbows and knees, - added the athlete. - I need to be trained well for the tournament, as the composition of the competition will be very strong."
It should be noted that in June 2012 Gazzaev became the silver prize-winner of the Republic of North Ossetia - Alania in kickboxing among the athletes born in 1996.
He trains under the guidance of the head coach of the Republic of North Ossetia – Alania in kickboxing, Honored Coach of Russia Oleg Kalantarov.
