EU Monitoring Mission in Georgia welcomed the level of cooperation shown by all parties after the September 29 incident occurred near the village of Karzman, (Dzausky district of South Ossetia) and the subsequent detention of the Georgian policeman. This was stated yesterday on the official website of the EU Monitoring Mission. It is noted in the statement, that the extradition of the detained police officer (October 1) by the Russian border guards to the Georgian side "led to the rapid resolution of the situation."
"EUMM was involved in the interaction with all the parties to determine the circumstances of the case and facilitated its rapid resolution, including through the MPRI "hotline" "– is said in the statement.
Asked to comment on the above mentioned statement, the press service of the KGB of South Ossetia reported IA "Res" the following: "The statement on the EUMM website is exhaustive and is not commented by us."
It should be reminded, that on the night of September 29 in the village of Karzman in Dzausky district of South Ossetia was fired the KGB Border Patrol post of South Ossetia. As a result of the actions taken close to the state border of South Ossetia, was detained the Georgian Interior Ministry official Tomiashvili Mogul, who was confiscated the army M4 carbine and a NATO-standard grenade launcher.
