Rehabilitation process of South Ossetia and Abkhazia under the previous leadership of the republic was going on with the "corruption component". Today Moscow hopes for positive change, said presidential aide Tatyana Golikova.
"The recovery processes are not very fast; of course, there was an element of corruption under the former leadership and former approach to using the funds. But to date, it seems that things are getting better,"- she said at a round table "Russia in a Changing World", held within the framework of the meeting of members of the government and the presidential administration with the trustees of the Russian president.

"The recent events indicate that the positive processes with the election of new leadership in South Ossetia are moving forward. We hope that with the global changes in approaches to socio-economic development, a new leadership of South Ossetia will promote positive changes in South Ossetia,"- said Golikova.
According to her, what is happening in South Ossetia and Abkhazia is predetermined by their level of socio-economic development.
"Unfortunately, today, we have to state that the situation in this field is still not enough favorable in these two Republics, and despite large financial injection on the part of Russia, the processes there are quite slow. This is predetermined by the fact that in many respects, both republics have remained at the legislative level of the Soviet Union period, and in some areas- when they were part of Georgia,"- she added.
According to her, some steps are being taken by new leadership of the two states, "though, it seems that these steps should be more dynamic , and our task is to provide all possible assistance in terms of formation of legislation in these two republics".
