The South Ossetian delegation at the meeting of participants of the Mechanisms to Prevent and Respond to Incidents (MPRI) declined to discuss with Georgia the issues of the state border arrangement, said the journalists Deputy Presidential Envoy of South Ossetia for post-conflict settlement Khokh Gagloyty after the MPRI meeting.
According to him, at the meeting the Georgian side proposed to include in the agenda the discussion of the South Ossetian state border arrangement.
"We do not believe it is possible to discuss the issues with Georgia concerning internal measures on the security of South Ossetia", - said Gagloyty.
He said that earlier this issue had already been raised by the Georgian side.
"All the aspects were studied in detail, the results of which were presented at a meeting in the format of MPRI, and at the Geneva discussions on security in Transcaucasia. It was made a final declaration that the statement of the Georgian side on fortification of the state border line between South Ossetia and Georgia was misinformation and propaganda "- said Gagloyty.
He has also said that during the yesterday`s meeting the South Ossetian side raised the issue of a citizen of the Republic Boris Turashvili, who has been serving a sentence in a Georgian prison.
"Turashvili repeatedly appealed to the Supreme Court of Georgia, the Parliament and the Ministry of Justice of Georgia to review his case - said Gagloyty. - He was accused of committing a number of illegal acts, and sentenced to 28 years imprisonment."
During the meeting, was also discussed the issue of crossing the state border at a checkpoint Mosabrun, where from September 18 passing vehicles will be prohibited.
According to Gagloyty, the meeting provided an overview of the events that occurred in the border areas since the previous meeting. It was noted that during this period the number of detainees for violation of the state border had increased.
However, the participants of the meeting appreciated the fact that the issue of their release was solved in a brief space of time.
