Today in the Russian 4th military base in the capital of South Ossetia was held a farewell ceremony for the banner of the
commander of the detachment, Major-General Alexander Shushukin.
The event was attended by the President of South Ossetia Leonid Tibilov, commander of the 58th Army of the Southern
Military District of Russia Major-General Andrei Gurulyov, the new commander of the 4th Russian military base in South
Ossetia Colonel Mikhail Polishchuk, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the
Republic of South Ossetia Elbrus Kargiev, Minister of Defense of South Ossetia, Lieutenant-General Valery Yakhnovets,
Minister of Internal Affairs of South Ossetia Akhsar Lavoev, Emergencies Minister of the RSO Anatoly Bibilov and the
Chairman of the KGB of South Ossetia Boris Attoev.
The head of state Leonid Tibilov noted the achievements of Alexander Shushukin as a commander of the fourth military
base in South Ossetia and wished him success in his future activities.
"The fourth military base is deployed for strengthening peace on the fertile land of South Ossetia", - said the president.
The President of the Republic presented Alexander Shushukin a certificate of honour.
During the event Shushukin respectfully bowed down before the banner and for the last time reviewed a solemn march of
the contingent of the base.
It should be noted that President of the Russian Federation has signed executive order on the appointment of Colonel
Mikhail Polishchuk as a new commander of the Russian 4th Guards military base. Earlier Polishchuk served as
commander of a motorized infantry brigade in the Western Military District....
