South Ossetian Republican political party "Unity" is following with concern the developments in Ukraine. The party expressed support for the decision of the Russian leadership about the possible use of Russian troops on the territory of Ukraine.
"Undisguised fascist forces committed a coup d’état, plunging the country into chaos and lawlessness. In discordance, sounding from the West which welcomed the "Ukrainian revolution," the decision of the Russian President Vladimir Putin on the possible use of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation on the territory of Ukraine for normalization of the political situation, had a sobering effect. A similar decision by Russia in 2008 prevented the genocide of the population of South Ossetia committed by Georgia. The more conflicts are provokeв by the West to destroy the Russian world, the more nations turn to Russia as the only force able to resist neofascism and chaos in the rapidly changing world."
The Party "Unity" appealed to the Ossetian diaspora in Crimea to support the authorities of the Crimea and to contribute to holding the referendum.
