In the course of the meeting in the format of Mechanisms to prevent and respond to incidents (MPRI) South Ossetian delegation expressed concern about a hunger strike of prisoners in Georgia, said after the meeting Deputy Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy of South Ossetia on post conflict settlement Khokh Gagloyty. Georgian delegation has reported that the convicts to life imprisonment are dissatisfied that they were not included in the amnesty and there were not bettered conditions after the change of political leadership in Georgia.
"We are extremely concerned, because still in prisons of Georgia are three South Ossetian citizens sentenced to life imprisonment and one for the long term. As before, we invariably characterize them as the South Ossetian hostages kept in Georgian prisons, "- said Gagloyty.
During the meeting were also considered matters of security at the state border, in particular, the statistics of border incidents.
"The parties have noted the increase of total number of detentions at the border, but it was recognized that this is due to the seasonal collection of different plants. All participants very highly appreciated the readiness of the South Ossetian side to solve the issues of undeliberate violation of the state border in humanitarian way, and promote the most expeditious release of detainees if it is possible,"- said the deputy envoy.
The South Ossetian side has also expressed concern about the demonstrative provocative actions at the state border of Georgia and South Ossetia.
"Particular attention is drawn to the continuing emergence of precedents of the Georgian police in the area Koshka-Keri. We have already informed all parties of MPRI, it will have an appropriate response, because, in our opinion, it has a provocative conscious component ", - stressed Gagloyty.
The meeting was also attended by President of the Swiss Confederation, who is on a working tour of the South Caucasus.
