The delegation of South Ossetia in Geneva announced the threats posed by NATO's presence in Georgia, said the Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy of the RSO for post-conflict settlement Murat Dzhioev

“We have noted that the presence of the North Atlantic Alliance in Georgia is dangerous for the situation in the region as a whole,” said Dzhioev. - The members of our delegation have reminded that at the IPRMmeeting, which was disrupted by the fault of the Georgian side, we intended to talk about the incidents that took place recently at the border. In particular, about how the so-called Georgian tourists were walking around the lake of Kel in South Ossetia. And a week later Polish tourists appeared in the same area.”

Representatives of the South Ossetian delegation expressed concern about the presence of NATO equipment in the first half of August, in the area of the Georgian village of Tsitsagiantkari, closely adjacent to the territory of South Ossetia.

“We were not informed in advance about the location of the equipment in the specified place, although within the framework of the Geneva discussions and the IPRM format, there is an agreement that if there are held military exercises or the movement of equipment near the border, we inform the observer missions so that they will notify the parties. "

Dzhioev has added that the expansion of Georgia’s relations with NATO is a fact that should cause concern for security in the region as a whole.
