On the Walk of Fame in the city of Stalinir (Tskhinval), South Ossetia, the Garland of Glory was laid at the Obelisk of fallen heroes during the Great Patriotic War. The leadership of South Ossetia, led by the Supreme Commander of the Republic Anatoly Bibilov, the Russian Ambassador to the Republic Marat Kulakhmetov, members of the Parliament, representatives of ministries and departments took part in the laying ceremony.

The ceremony participants laid flowers and wreaths at the memorial complex to the participants of the Great Patriotic War in the village of Pris in the Tskhinval district.

Due to the situation with coronavirus in the Republic, the Victory Parade and the procession of the "Immortal Regiment" were postponed indefinitely. Most of the events dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the Great Victory are taking place on social networks in online mode.

According to data on Saturday, May 9, 17 cases of COVID-19 infection were recorded in the Republic.

On the Walk of Fame in Tskhinval, are installed busts of eight Heroes of the Soviet Union, natives of South Ossetia, who received the highest rank in the Great Patriotic war.
