The condition of patients with coronavirus in South Ossetia is stable, - Ministry of Health

Ministry of Health of South Ossetia reported on the condition of 34 coronavirus patients in the isolation ward in Tskhinval.

As reported to IA "Res" by the press service of the Health Ministry, among the diseased there are two medical workers from the Znaur district hospital.

"Several patients have a low temperature in the range of 37 - 37.3 degrees. Their condition is stable. They continue to receive medication," the press service said.

According to the press service, currently in the "red zone" there are 58 people, among them there are small children, too.

"The medical staff is working in good faith, recognizing their responsibility to patients. The coronavirus infection of their colleagues from Znaur district did not affect their attitude to provide the necessary assistance to patients," the Ministry emphasized.

In total, 348 people are under two- weeks quarantine, and 236 are in medical facilities of the Republic. In addition, 69 people are on self-isolation at home and another 43 are quarantined at the hotel “Alan ".

Earlier, President of South Ossetia Anatoly Bibilov signed a decree on declaring non-working days from May 12 to May 28 inclusively with the preservation of wages due to the situation with COVID-19.

Cabinet of Ministers of South Ossetia extended restrictive measures in the Republic until May 31. All public places remain closed, except for food and non-food stores, beauty salons and workshops. The ban remains on holding cultural events.

The border of South Ossetia with the Russian Federation is completely closed until May 17, restrictions on movement through the state border are introduced until May 31.

The first cases of coronavirus infection in the Republic were recorded on May 6.
