Secretary of the Security Council of South Ossetia Valery Valiev has received the head of the representative Office of the International Committee of the Red Cross in Tskhinval, Ms. Carmen Echezarreta at her request, the press service of the Republic's Foreign Ministry reports.
The head of the ICRC Representative office provided information on the implementation of humanitarian programs implemented by the ICRC in South Ossetia, as well as shared the organization's plans for the coming period.
Valiev has positively assessed the humanitarian activities of the ICRC over the past years, stressing that cooperation on projects implemented in South Ossetia will continue.
"During the conversation, Ms. Echezarreta also asked for assistance in visiting the detained Georgian citizen Gakheladze by representatives of the ICRC to convey him the Red Cross Message from his family," the Foreign Ministry said.
