South Ossetian President Alan Gagloev took part in the board meeting of the State Security Committee, dedicated to the results of operational and service activities in 2024 and tasks for 2025. This was reported by the press service of the head of state.
As reported, the head of the KGB Oleg Shiran presented the President with a report on the work of the department over the past year.
Alan Gagloev highly praised the work of the KGB, especially noting close cooperation with the Federal Security Service of Russia and other law enforcement agencies.
He has also called for strengthening the work to identify and suppress the activities of individuals aimed at destabilizing the socio-political situation, including on the Internet and social networks in particular.
Special attention was paid to neutralizing security threats related to the subversive activities of the Western partners and provocations from Georgia.
"Certain forces from the Georgian side regularly stage provocations on our border. It is necessary to promptly and timely stop such actions that are trying to involve the citizens of South Ossetia," the President has stressed.
Alan Gagloev also emphasized the importance of ensuring economic security and combating corruption.
"I ask you to step up the work on the implementation of the program for socio-economic development of the Republic of South Ossetia and the Investment Program. Immediately respond to cases of misuse of budget funds," he said.
In conclusion of his speech, the President has expressed confidence that the KGB of South Ossetia will continue to successfully counter challenges and threats in 2025, ensuring security and stability in the Republic. He thanked the KGB staff for their service, professionalism and determination.
