In December 2020, 28 violators of legislation in the border sphere were detained at various parts of the State Border of the Republic of South Ossetia (28 in November), the press service of the KGB of South Ossetia reports.

"Of these, there are 10 are violators of the State Border regime, 18 are the border regime violators. The Border Guard Service of the State Security Committee of the Republic of South Ossetia conducted investigations for each violation of legal regimes.

As a result of the procedural activities against violators of the existing administrative and legal regimes on the State Border, administrative measures were applied with explanatory work, during which 22 people were subjected to an administrative fine, 2 were expelled from the Republic of South Ossetia under Art. 14 of the Law "On the State Border of the Republic of South Ossetia" without penalties, a criminal case has been initiated against 4 people, "the message says.

The Border Service of the KGB of the RSO informs that in order to pass the citizens of the Russian Federation arriving at wedding, funeral and other mass events held within the border zone, using a general civil passport without special passes, it is necessary to notify the Border Service in advance about carrying out these events through the relevant village and rural administrations in the prescribed manner.

The Border Service of the KGB also reminds that the crossing points of the RSO State Border with Georgia in a simplified manner remain closed, with the exception of the IGGG in a special order "Khelchua", which allows people to pass in accordance with the Decree of the Government of the RSO dated October 9, 2015 No. 90 "On opening a place crossing the state border of the Republic of South Ossetia with Georgia in a special order "Khelchua".
