The book of the head of the representative office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation in Krasnodar, Candidate of History Sergey Manko, dedicated to the history of the development and formation of the Republic of South Ossetia, where he was in the diplomatic service, was published on the eve of the Day of the Diplomat, the representative office reports.
From 2017 to 2019 Sergey Manko was working as an Adviser to the Embassy of the Russian Federation in the Republic of South Ossetia.
The diplomat made a great contribution to the development of Russian-South Ossetian relations and more than once noted that wonderful people were living in South Ossetia. "Thank you, South Ossetia, for developing, that it appreciates the assistance provided by the Russian Federation," Manko emphasized.
In 2019, a Russian diplomat said that he was planning to write a large book about Ossetia in the near future, stressing that this will be a Russian historian's view of the historical phenomenon of Ossetia.
“For me, as a historian, it has always been a mystery that is difficult for the world community to unravel: how such a small nation, having stood up against forces that outnumber it tenfold, managed not only to defend its freedom, but also to achieve independence.
This is a historical phenomenon that still needs to be studied, to show others that they do not need to give up when fighting for their freedom. I am sure you will always have victory ahead of you. I wish South Ossetia development and prosperity,” he said
For his great personal contribution to strengthening relations of friendship and cooperation between the peoples of the Republic of South Ossetia and the Russian Federation, the head of state Anatoly Bibilov awarded Sergei Manko with the Order of Friendship.
